Bon Jovi to Perform Opening Concert of New Meadowlands Stadium

Home of NY Jets and NY Giants to Welcome New Jersey's Native Band on May 26, 27 & 29

Bon Jovi will perform the first concert in New Meadowlands Stadium, the New York Giants and New York Jets announced today at a surprise performance held at the Stadium site for 5,000 fan club contest winners.

"New Meadowlands Stadium was designed to serve as the country's premiere sports and entertainment facility," said Woody Johnson, Chairman and CEO of the New York Jets. "It's only fitting that Bon Jovi, considered one of the world's greatest rock bands, will perform our first concert."

"We could not be happier that Bon Jovi - New Jersey's native band - is performing the very first concert held at New Meadowlands Stadium," said John Mara, President and CEO of the New York Giants. "Bon Jovi played many memorable sold-out concerts at Giants Stadium, and we welcome New Jersey's hometown band back for another set of history-making shows."

Upon completion in 2010, New Meadowlands Stadium will seat 82,500 fans and will be the third-largest stadium in the National Football League, setting the standard for venue excellence, with state-of-the-art technology, comfort and amenities.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer our fans not only the opportunity to witness the games of two NFL teams, but also an array of exciting entertainment events in a venue that has all of the technological and aesthetic advancements to provide for a perfect experience," said Steve Tisch, Chairman and Executive Vice President of the New York Giants.

Inside the stadium, four 40-by-130-foot HD video replay boards will hang from each corner of the upper deck. Outside the stadium, fans will be treated to a 350,000-square-foot outdoor plaza filled with fan-centric activities and pregame entertainment zones. A signature amenity of the stadium will be the brand new rail line that will drop off passengers less than 100 feet from the stadium - the total trip from New York's Penn Station will take less than 20 minutes.

The band, comprised of New Jersey natives Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torres, performed an exclusive set for a select group of fans on-site at the New Meadowlands Stadium at today's announcement. New York Jets Chairman and CEO Woody Johnson and New York Giants President and CEO John Mara were in attendance, as was the President and CEO of the New Meadowlands Stadium Mark Lamping. WPLJ-FM DJ Race Taylor served as the event host and emcee.

Advanced tickets to the New Meadowlands concerts will go on sale to American Express(r) Cardmembers beginning at 10am on Monday, October 26 and to the general public beginning at 10am on Saturday, October 31 with additional tour dates going on-sale beginning November 9.
