Navy to Play Notre Dame at the New Meadowlands Stadium in 2010
Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk and Mark Lamping, CEO of the New Meadowlands Stadium, announced on Monday that the 2010 Navy-Notre Dame game will be played at the $1.3 billion dollar New Meadowlands Stadium. The game will be televised nationally by CBS. "We are thrilled to participate in the inaugural college football game in a magnificent new facility," said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk. "This will be a very special day for our program playing one of our traditional rivals in an area that is not only an easy drive for our fans, but has a great history of hosting some very special Navy games in the past." "We couldn't be more excited to bring the pageantry of college football and the rich history of Navy-Notre Dame to our brand new facility," said Lamping. This will be Navy's 12th game at the Meadowlands Complex and the sixth against the Fighting Irish, with their last match-up played in 2004.
